It seems like these days, “Love At First Sight” would better represent a Tinder tagline than the description of a modern narrative. Santiago and Christie proved that thought wrong by having one beautiful story.
These two grew up in Barranquilla, Colombia and attended church . One evening, various churches in the area (including theirs) decided to host a youth group event; both being part of youth groups in their churches, decided to attend. That evening, as Santiago hung out with his buddies in one corner of the event hall, Christie mas making her way into it. When she walked into the room, Santiago immediately noticed. Time froze and the sounds of chirping birds was all this man could hear. He stood there admiring her long dark hair and the freckles on her adorable visage. It was love at first sight.
After that night, Santiago asked around about her. He asked all who could know her about who she was and her dating availability. He changed churches to be at the same one she was. All this until, one day, he worked up the courage to talk to her. Determined to love her, he nourished a friendship until the day she began to notice him as something more.
Years of friendship-building passed. They dated. He proposed. They got married. And have now celebrated their first anniversary in their Coral Gables home. The images below are the result of the love narrative these two have lived. They are the result of when your relationship exemplifies the meaning behind a term. They are the result of a love at first sight.
